PHYSICAL THERAPY

Amy offers a wide range of physiotherapy services designed to address your specific preferences and needs.  She’ll evaluate your body as a whole to get to the root of the problem to fix the symptoms as well as the cause. Individualized sessions include trigger point dry needling, manual therapy, clinical Pilates and movement re-education to help you heal from an injury, reduce pain and achieve your movement goals.  We'll progress through a personalized treatment program that improves muscular balance and reduces your risk of injury.  We'll work as a team so you can achieve your best outcomes.

TRIGGER POINT DRY NEEDLING

Dry needling is the practice of inserting a fine filament needle into tight, painful muscles to help them reset and function properly again.  It can be used alone or with electrical stimulation with the goal of releasing spasms and trigger points.  It is best used in conjunction with active rehabilitation and exercise to create lasting changes in muscle tension!

MANUAL THERAPY

Amy is well-versed in a variety of manual therapy techniques, including soft tissue release, joint mobilization, muscle energy techniques, assisted stretching, and more. She utilizes manual therapy as a means to help decrease pain and increase range of motion. These techniques are best used in conjunction with active rehabilitation and exercise, which helps prolong the effects of manual therapy

PILATES-BASED THERAPEUTIC EXERCISE

Pain often results from imbalances in our body caused by poor postural habits and inefficient movement patterns. Focus on proper breathe, alignment and control creates bodies that are agile, coordinated and less prone to injury. Clinical pilates involves exercises that focus on core stability, motor control, and breathing. I’ll teach you to move with control and confidence, by selecting exercises that are appropriate to your condition or injury. We’ll focus on bridging the gap between rehab and fitness.
